Science Guy

Benjamin is such the little scientist in the crib, it is hilarious to watch. You can actually see the wheels turning in his head. This week he has discovered Maisy's food and water dishes. He will drag you over to them while you are walking the living room - dining room - kitchen circuit. He looks at them very intently and puts his hands in the water, and then in the empty food dish, and then back in the water, and then in both at once. He is trying so hard to figure out what is going on. He slaps at the empty dish and the water, and apparently has laughed at the splashing, although I missed that. Also, alarmingly, he is getting to where he can stand by himself at the dish a little bit. On the one hand I am tempted to knock his little legs out from under him, and try to keep him a little baby forever, but for some reason I keep cheering on his accomplishments too. I'm very torn.

He reminds me of the Grover skit on Sesame Street..."near...far...near...far."
Wet...not wet...wet...not wet.
